Tracking a warm start to the weekend with a stark cooldown by the end

TODAY: Thursday is another warm and sunny day, but just a few degrees warmer than Wednesday. Highs reach the low 80s areawide with light south winds and abundant sunshine.

TONIGHT: Temperatures fall into the 50s Friday morning under clear skies.

EXTENDED: Some extra clouds return Saturday and Sunday as a front stalls across the region Saturday, and then gets pushed out by another on Sunday. Rain chances are still abysmally low, and will not be included in the forecast as we are very likely to be dry. Temperature change behind the front continues to look impressive, with the front dropping highs from upper 80s Saturday, into the low 70s Sunday, and into the 60s and 50s early next week. Frost still looks possible Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
