Tracking warmer days ahead before weekend rain chances

TODAY: We're partly cloudy, and in the upper 80s today.

TONIGHT: We'll be mostly clear again overnight, with temperatures falling into the low 60s.

EXTENDED: Some showers may drift into western counties Thursday morning, but then fizzle to allow for a mostly sunny and dry day. After 6 p.m. storms may redevelop, especially in the west. A cold front will nudge into the region overnight in to Friday, stalling over the region. This may serve as a focal point for more thunderstorms on a isolated to scattered basis on Friday, but overall, a lot of dry time is expected. Temperatures are near 90 both Thursday and Friday. An upper level wave approaches over the weekend, driving the boundary north as a warm front on Saturday. This will increase chances of rainfall, which will likely be scattered in coverage. Thunder will likely accompany this. Timing and placement of storms is still somewhat uncertain, but chances span the morning through the evening. This means storms may impact game time at Faurot in the afternoon. Storm chances will lower Sunday, as we get some dry time, but a cold front will likely bring another chance in the evening. Highs are questionable both Saturday and Sunday thanks to rainfall coverage, but both days are likely somewhere in the 80s, before we fall into the 70s for much, if not all, of next week.
