Tracking a dry stretch before weekend rain chances

Today: Tuesday is warm and dry, with a few clouds. Highs will climb into the mid-80s, with moderate humidity.

TONIGHT: Skies will be mostly clear overnight, with a light breeze from the southeast, and temperatures in the low 60s.

EXTENDED: Humidity is low to moderate again, as highs linger in the 80s thanks to easterly influence, but we'll warm and gain humidity Thursday and Friday as highs reach into the upper 80s if not 90. These days will be noticeably more muggy, feeling more like mid-90s. This added moisture will come with a few more clouds, but we'll be partly cloudy, not overcast. The added moisture is thanks in part to better low level southerly flow tied to a nearing trough to the west. The closer we get to this, the better our rain chances. The Kansas City area will see a chance for showers and storms Thursday, which may include our northwest counties, but most will likely have to wait until Thursday night/Friday morning for our next rain chance. Friday through Monday, we'll have daily rain chances as this pattern nears, but our best chances currently look to come on Saturday and Sunday, as a more defined upper level shortwave trough brings a surface low through the plains. This is still notably west of us which keeps rain chances low, but we will see a chance at rain from this each day. Temperatures are uncertain Saturday onward, and will greatly hinge on how this plays out, and our rain coverage, but we're likely somewhere in the 80s, but 70s could be possible by the end of the weekend and early next week.
