Tracking cool air that could bring frost to some
TODAY: Wednesday is yet another crisp and cool day, with temperatures a bit cooler than Tuesday. We'll still have a north wind here at the surface, but thanks to a change in wind flow at the low levels of the atmosphere, and high pressure building in from the north, temperatures won't be able to climb as fast. Temperatures will likely try to get to 70 under sunny skies, but it's likely that we get stuck in the upper 60s today, after starting in the low 40s, if not upper 30s for some. This means we could see some patchy frost early today.
TONIGHT: Skies stay clear overnight, and winds stay out of the north and northeast. Temperatures take another big plunge overnight, down into the 30s and 40s again. Once more, patchy frost is likely, especially north of I-70.
EXTENDED: We'll see Mostly sunny skies daily, until early next week. Temperatures will bounce around in the 70s, with a gradual warm up to near 80 by Sunday and Monday. Hurricane Ian will keep high pressure in place over mid-MO, giving it nowhere to go. When Ian's remnants push east, we'll see our high pressure follow suit, allowing for disturbances to move in from the west. This will bring the slimmest of rain chances early next week. Not anything to cancel plans for, but it'll be our best chance for rain in days.
