Tracking a warm and comfortable Father’s Day weekend

Today: Temperatures will continue to rise into the lower 90's thanks to the passage of this mornings cold frontal boundary. Skies look to remain mostly clear. The southern of Central Missouri will remain in a heat advisory until 8 pm as the heat index is expected to rise above 100 degrees.

Tonight: overnight temperatures slowly cool to the lower 70's as winds remain calm out of the east. Skies remain mostly clear.

Extended: Saturday and Sunday see a decrease in the heat index and humidity as high's remain into the lower 90's. Plenty of sunshine is in store both days with sunny conditions expected. By early next week winds return strongly from the south resulting in increased temperatures at or near 100 degrees leading to more dangerous heat. By mid-week next week chances for showers and storms increase.
