Tracking afternoon showers & storms behind a cold-front

Today: This afternoon, showers and storms will begin to develop along and behind a stalling cold front in Mid-Missouri after 4 pm. Afternoon highs will see some inconsistency across Central Missouri thanks to the location of this cold-front. The northwestern half of Mid-Missouri will see highs into the mid-70s while Columbia and to the southeast will see highs into the mid to upper 80s. The main threat this afternoon will be the possibility of minor flooding and isolated hail events.

Tonight: Showers and storms will continue to appear throughout the overnight hours leading for increased risk of flooding with slow moving storms. Overnight lows cool to around 60 degrees.

Extended: We will see showers and storms continue into Saturday morning before a brief mid-day break. Showers and storms will make an appearance once again into Saturday afternoon as temperatures remain more than ten degrees below normal for Mid-May. Sunday begins and ends with mostly sunny skies and highs into the mid-60s. Next week temperatures near the average mark with increased chances of showers and storms returning back to Central Missouri.
