Tracking afternoon storms and a warm weekend
TODAY: Thursday starts dry with mostly sunny skies, but chances for scattered storms return along a warm front this afternoon. This will also help us warm back into the mid 70s. There is a small risk for hail with storms Thursday, largely west of highway 63.
TONIGHT: Rain chances push northward during the overnight hours, all but removing the rain chance for Friday. A few lingering showers are possible north of I-70 early Friday morning. By sunrise, most are dry, with temperatures in the low 60s.
EXTENDED: Friday's highs reach low to mid 80s under mostly sunny skies, and with windy conditions. Winds may gust as high as 20 to 30 mph on Friday. We up the wind a tad on Saturday to 30-40 mph gusts and continued sunshine for the majority of the day. This gives us another shot at 80+ degrees before rain and storms move in overnight. The bulk of the rain looks to come early Sunday morning, which will limit any severe risk. Still, these storms may have a severe element as they approach from the west Saturday night. Next week starts dry and cooler than normal.
