ABC 17 STORMTRACK WEATHER APP: How to add locations
The ABC 17 News Stormtrack weather app allows you to get important weather alerts specific to your location.
To get started setting up location-based alerts, select "alerts" on the home page screen of the Stormtrack app. This screen will tell you about active and recent alerts.
Tap the location icon in the upper right corner. The app defaults to your current location, which you can toggle on and off.
To add locations, click on the plus sign under "custom locations." Enter your city, zip code or address for the location you want to add. Once it's there, hit "save."
You can customize alerts for each location. Back on the "My Locations" screen, click on the dropdown arrow next to a location and select "edit" to turn specific types of alerts on and off. You can also select a default location on the dropdown from the "My Locations" screen.
The system's predictive alerts include: “lightning in area” “storms in area” and “twisting storm approaching.” In this section, you can also turn on alerts from the National Weather Service.
Download the app on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
