Tracking arctic air through the end of the week
TONIGHT
We're tracking a cold front that is expected to arrive later tonight. Temperatures will stay warm into the evening, but begin to drop behind the front that looks to pass through around midnight. This drops temperatures into the mid-20's early Wednesay.
WEDNESDAY
Tomorrow starts cold, with temperatures struggling to climb behind the cold front. Temperatures will do well to hold steady through the day, before falling steadily overnight into Thursday. There isn't much moisture in the atmosphere for this front to work with, so we'll largely stay dry. There is a chance for rain to briefly change to snow south of I-44, if this front can encounter enough moisture.
EXTENDED
Once the sun sets, we’ll fall into the single digits with the wind chill dropping below zero, creating dangerous conditions on Thursday morning. We struggle to warm up at all on Thursday with highs only topping out in the teens. We’ll fall back into the single digits by Friday morning, but can climb a little further into the upper 20’s Friday afternoon. We’ll keep the slow warmup going into this weekend, with highs reaching the 30’s. As of now, the forecast remains dry, with our best shot at rain waiting until at least next week.
