Tracking a hot middle of the week

WEDNESDAY: We’ll pick up a few clouds here and there, but it’ll filter the sunshine at worst. Temperatures look to top out in the low 90’s with a decent southwesterly breeze throughout the day. That will help bump up the humidity, pushing the heat index near the century mark.

TONIGHT: Adding on a few more clouds overnight, lows will struggle to cool off much. Temperatures only look to back up into the middle 70’s.

EXTENDED: We’re well on our way to another warm day tomorrow, but some afternoon showers and storms will put a halt to a repeat. Anytime after 3 PM, storms will be possible and look to favor areas north of I-70 initially. Some of these could pack a punch, bringing some gusty winds and heavy downpours. Those storms will stay with us into the overnight hours before thinning out Friday morning. Another round of storms will be possible during the afternoon, especially south of I-70 as our front slowly drifts southward. Saturday and Sunday are trending drier, with the front making it far enough south to become Arkansas’ problem. We’ll still have a slight chance of rain with highs over the weekend making it into the middle 80’s. Rain chances look to take a break early next week, with the 80’s sticking around.
