Tracking lower humidity Tuesday, heavy rainfall possible this week

TONIGHT: Scattered showers and storms early, becoming mostly cloudy. Lows in the low to mid-60s.

TOMORROW: Partly to mostly sunny and less humid. Highs in the mid-80s.

EXTENDED: We're in for an unsettled week with an upper level trough or dip in the jet stream moving over us, along with several waves of energy sliding our way. The cold front responsible for today's showers and storms will settle to our south on Tuesday, leaving us with a gorgeous afternoon with lower humidity and more sunshine. The front begins to push north again by Wednesday, increasing chances for showers and storms. The front lingers for most of the week, introducing the possibility of heavier rainfall amounts through the weekend. Showers and storms are likely each day, with rain amounts between 3-5" by Sunday. The highest totals will be along and south of I-70. Temperatures will take a nose dive after Tuesday with highs falling into the low 80s for Thursday and Friday, and into the upper 70s by Saturday. Lows will stay in the mid-60s to around 70. We finally begin to dry out with this front pushing east of us by Sunday.
