Heat and humidity increase, storms likely for Wednesday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and muggy with lows in the upper 60s to around 70.

TOMORROW: Becoming partly cloudy, hot, and humid. Highs in the low 90s, heat index in the upper 90s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms likely by late afternoon into the evening.

EXTENDED: A cold front to our north will slide south on Wednesday, triggering showers and thunderstorms by late afternoon into Wednesday night. Some of those storms may become strong or severe and develop into a line of damaging winds that tracks south during the evening into overnight. The front stays to our south on Thursday, eliminating rain chances for most of us until Friday as it works its way back north. Over the weekend, high pressure builds in the upper levels of the atmosphere, keeping temperatures warmer than normal in the upper 80s to around 90, with dry weather expected.
