Partly cloudy skies & sprinkles this afternoon

THIS AFTERNOON: Temperatures are in the low to mid 40s this afternoon. A spot sprinkle or two is possible, with a rumble of thunder or two possible near I-44.

TONIGHT: Rain chances end before the sun sets and clouds are quick to go with them. That leaves skies mostly clear overnight as lows fall into the upper 20s.

EXTENDED: A beautiful weekend still looks to be in store. Highs make it into the upper 50s Saturday with plenty of sunshine. It may be the better day to get out, with cloud cover making a return Sunday. Afternoon highs will still make it into the low 60s with a southerly breeze helping out. Rain chances look to hold off until Sunday evening. Those rain chances may come with a few rumbles of thunder and look to last into Monday. More rain chances on Tuesday as another system works along the same boundary, and this round could come in heavy. It will all depend on where the boundary sets up into the middle of next week, but at least temperatures will stay fairly mild, with highs in the low 50s. We may only get into the upper 40s toward the end of next week, but we'll be drying out.
