COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) -

Crews spent Friday night repairing a water main along Providence Road.

Utility workers were out late on Friday fixing a main that gushed water into the street. Boone County Joint Communications warned drivers about the problem at Providence Road and Kentucky Boulevard at 5:12 p.m.

Water mains broke in a nearby neighborhood last May. Columbia Water and Light reported two main breaks on May 23 on Lagrange Court and West Ridgeley Road due to construction crews and a collapsing road respectively.

Friday's water main break happened on the other side of Providence Road from the Grasslands neighborhood. The department has not said yet what might have caused this main to break.
