Mizzou student dies after being hit by suspected drunk driver

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A University of Missouri sophomore has died after her car was hit by a suspected drunk driver Tuesday night.

Ashley Footer, 19, was driving a 2012 Honda Civic when she turned left from Providence onto Highway 163 near Route K when an SUV ran a red light

Ashley's father, Rick Footer, says she was going to grab food with a friend when the crash occurred.

Troopers said McCracking was driving the SUV that hit Footer. He wasn't hurt in the crash.

Duncan McCracking was arrested at the scene, but no charges have been filed.

According to a GoFundMe set up by Rick, Ashley will be laid to rest in her mother's home country of Turkey.
