Mizzou student hit by suspected drunk driver

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Ashley Footer, a 19-year-old sophomore at the University of Missouri, was hit by a suspected drunk driver Tuesday night at 9:20 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Providence near Route K.

Ashley remains in critical condition.

Rick Footer, Ashley's father, says Ashley was going to grab food with a friend when the crash occurred.

Rick Footer said, "Don't drink and drive. Call a Uber. If you're going to drink be responsible."

"My daughter lost an ovary. How do you put a price on that?" Rick says.

Ashley is suffering from several severe injuries including several abdominal injuries, a broken femur, pelvis and lower right leg.

Rick says his daughter is strong and he knows she's going to pull through.

"She a fighter. There's an army behind her to help her recover and we're gonna make sure that happens," said Rick.

Rick Footer has set up a GoFundMe page to cover Ashley's medical expenses.

Duncan McCracking was arrested at the scene but at last check no charges have been filed.
