Kehoe orders Capitol dome to light up red and gold to support Chiefs in Super Bowl

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Gov. Mike Kehoe on Friday ordered the dome of the Missouri Capitol in Jefferson City to be lit red and gold to support the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend.
Kehoe’s office wrote in a Friday press release that the dome will be lit in Chiefs colors from sunset to sunrise through Sunday. The Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. Sunday and the game will air on Fox 22.
"Missourians and fans across Chiefs Kingdom are once again celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs making it to the Super Bowl on this Red Friday," Kehoesaid in the release. "We're proud to call the Kansas City Chiefs Missouri's team, and light our state's Capitol red and gold as the Chiefs seek a Super Bowl three-peat this Sunday."
The release also states that Kehoe made a bet with Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, a tradition among the governors of states represented in the Super Bowl. The governors bet an assortment of foods. The release says Kehoe predicts the Chiefs will win 31-17.
Kehoe’s predecessor, former Gov. Mike Parson, had ordered the dome to be lit in Chiefs colors during Super Bowl weekend the past two years.
