Columbia bars, restaurants host Super Bowl watch parties

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Across Columbia on Sunday, crowds gathered in local restaurants and bars to watch the matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. With Super Bowl LVII underway, fans on each side repped their team colors.

“Atmosphere is buzzing,” University of Missouri student and Chiefs fan Hovannes Jaghlasian said. “It's fantastic. Got all the friends from my hometown here and it's amazing.”

Jaghlasian watched the big game outside Shiloh Bar and Grill. Bright red jerseys and Chiefs merchandise dominated the crowd of about 50 patrons. Other bars like The FieldHouse had dozens of fans tuned into the game.

And, if the team in red pulls through...

“I’m going to call my mom because she's a big Kansas fan,” Tobias, a student at the University of Missouri said.

Aiden, another student in Tobias’ Super Bowl group, had slightly different plans.

“I’m just going to party with the boys,” Aiden said.  “I want Kansas City to erupt and I want the Chiefs to win, so I'm hoping that they go crazy.”
