Mizzou acquires former Wichita State infielder, local talent from transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Camdenton alum is bringing his talents back to Mid-Missouri.
Former Wichita State shortstop Kam Durnin revealed that he is transferring to Mizzou for his junior season, per a post on his social media. He brings two years of eligibility to the Tigers.
Durnin spent his first two seasons at the collegiate level with Wichita State, batting .258 with nine home runs and 60 RBI's over 112 career games (106 starts). However, he has shined brightest on defense, posting a .975 fielding percentage and consistent eye-catching plays in the middle infield.
Before signing with Wichita State, Durnin was a three-time First Team All-State selection and a four-year starter at Camdenton High School, where he set new program records in career batting average (.455), hits (127), doubles (38), triples (15) and runs scored (117). He was also the state's No. 9-ranked shortstop in the Class of 2023.
With this addition, Mizzou Baseball has acquired three confirmed players out of the transfer portal this offseason. Durnin joins former NCAA Division II pitcher Keyler Gonzalez and Texas A&M utility player Jamal George.
