Mizzou hoops finishes regular-season ranked, following three-game skid

KMIZ

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

It wasn't the end of the regular-season that Tiger fans may have pictured, but Mizzou hoops still ended up ranked in the Top-25 in both major polls.

After losing both games against Oklahoma and Kentucky in the final week of the season, head coach Dennis Gates and company slid six spots, down to No. 21 in the latest AP Poll. MU went down three spots in the Coaches Poll, as well, to No. 22.

The Tigers will now head into the post-season, having been ranked for eight-straight weeks this season. Gates and his team earned the No. 7 seed in the upcoming SEC Tournament in Nashville, which means they will play either Mississippi State or LSU on Thursday, March 13 at 6 p.m.

Coach Gates said a new season starts once the postseason begins and Mizzou's main goal now is to win an SEC Tournament Championship.

After that, the Tigers will await their fate in March Madness. The NCAA Tournament Selection Show will start at 5 p.m. CT on Sunday, March 16, when teams around the nation will learn where they land in tournament action.
