A former Mizzou Tiger is saying goodbye to the National Football League (NFL) after a 10-year run.

Mitch Morse announced his retirement from the NFL on Thursday, spending time with the Kansas City Chiefs (4), Buffalo Bills (5) and Jacksonville Jaguars (1) during his professional career.

"The things I'll remember and cherish most about my career are the relationships and bonds I created with my teammates, both on and off the field. Nothing can replace that, and I will miss it dearly," Morse said in a statement on social media. "I want to thank the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars for 10 unforgettable seasons."

Morse spent five years at Mizzou (2010-14) where he helped lead the team to a 46-20 overall record, two SEC East Championships (2013-14), a Big-12 North Co-Championship (2010) and wins in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl (2014), Cotton Bowl (2013) and Independence Bowl (2011).

After that, the Texas native was drafted in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Chiefs. He started in 49 games with Kansas City before moving to Buffalo as a free agent in 2019. Morse made 77 starts for the Bills during that stretch.

Finally, Morse signed as a free agent with the Jaguars in 2024, starting in all 17 regular season games of his final NFL campaign. According to Pro Football Focus, he played the 16th-most snaps (1,021) of any center in the NFL last season and received an overall grade of 57.3 in his final campaign.

"Most of all, I want to thank my wife, Catilin, and my children, Kennedy and Deacon, for their constant love and support on this journey," Morse closed his retirement statement. "I look forward to spending more time with them as I navigate retirement."
