MU strength coach announces next move; leaving the program

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou announced that MU Hoops' Director of Athletic Performance, Nicodemus Christopher, will be moving to Denver to start his own company.

He has been with the program for four years, however, he's been with head coach Cuonzo Martin for much longer than that. Martin and Christopher stayed together at Tennessee, Cal-Berkeley, and Mizzou for more than a decade.

"I have been blessed to have Nicodemus by my side for most of my career. He's a tremendous coach, friend, husband and father, who has positively impacted countless student-athletes in our program and helped them grow physically, but more importantly, as young men," Martin said in a press release, on Friday.

Christopher plans to work with high-profile athletes and business professionals once he moves to Colorado.

"Both my successes and failures have taught me the power of purpose and vision," Christopher said in a press release. "As my vision becomes clearer, I realize that I am at a pivotal moment in my life. Though the vehicle has changed, my destination remains the same. I am committed to pouring into the lives of others."

Mizzou hoops begins its training period in early June.
