The Southeastern Conference tabbed Mizzou running back Jamal Roberts as the SEC Offensive Player of the Week, on Monday, following his second-straight 200-yard game of the season.

Roberts is sharing the honor with South Carolina quarterback LaNorris Sellers.

Tiger quarterback Austin Simmons put it best after Saturday's win over Texas A&M: "Today was a Jamal Roberts type of day." The senior running back carried the Mizzou offense to the program's first win over the Aggies since 2014, tallying 222 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 34 carries. In the fourth quarter, his 54-yard touchdown iced the win for MU.

After the game, head coach Eli Drinkwitz credited Roberts with wearing that Texas A&M defense down with his patience, by lowering his shoulder and forcing them to tackle him. In fact, ProFootballFocus (PFF) said 208 of Roberts' 222 yards came after contact, on Saturday.

That performance was the St. Louis native's second-straight 200-yard game, after he ran for 211 yards and three touchdown in Mizzou's Top-10 upset over Florida on Oct. 3. Roberts is now the first player in program history to stack back-to-back 200-yard rushing performances, becoming just the third SE running back to do so in the past 20 seasons. He joins Alabama's Derrick Henry and LSU's Leonard Fournette, who each accomplished the rare feat in 2015.

Heading into Mizzou's Week 7 matchup against No. 9 Ole Miss, Roberts leads the SEC and ranks No. 2 nationally in total rushing yards, gaining 828 yards on the year, along with eight touchdowns, on 147. carries. According to PFF, 673 of those yards came after contact.

Up next - No. 13 Mizzou hits the road for Oxford to face the Rebels on Saturday at 2:30 pm. The game will air on SEC Network.
