Mizzou hoops releases full 2026-27 slate

After the Southeastern Conference released the entire 18-game conference slate for Mizzou men's basketball on Monday morning, the Tigers have now released their full 32-game schedule for the 2026-27 season.
Head coach Dennis Gates and company are set to compete in one of the most competitive slates in program history, facing 15 NCAA Tournament squads and 12 teams that were listed in ESPN's Top-25 rankings.
All-in-all, MU will host 17 teams at Mizzou Arena, with 21 total matchups inside Missouri Borders. That includes nine SEC clashes, with five Saturday games and four midweeks.
The Tigers have an exhibition game in Las Vegas on Oct. 29, but will officially open up the season on Nov. 3 against Cleveland State. After that, Mizzou fans won't be waiting long for the team's first clash with an NCAA Tournament team. The second game of the season will come against the Saint Louis Billikens on Nov. 9 at the Enterprise Center, as SLU is fresh off of a second-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
At the start of December, Mizzou will hit the road for a four-game gauntlet, beginning with the Border Showdown against Kansas at the T-Mobile Center on Dec. 6. Six days later, Coach Gates and company will return to the T-Mobile Center to renew its rivalry with Nebraska on Dec. 12. After that, MU will play a game at Indiana, before wrapping up the road swing with the annual Braggin' Rights game against Illinois at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis on Dec. 20.
Coach Gates and company will play one last non-conference game against Chicago State on Dec. 22, before opening up a tough Southeastern Conference schedule with a game at Arkansas on Jan. 2.

Coach Gates and his squad will have another gauntlet ahead, as the SEC continues to earn more NCAA Tournament berths than any other conference. In fact, in the last two years the league has averaged 12 NCAA Tournament teams, which tops the prior single-season record of 11 set by the Big East in 2011.
Heading into the 2026-27 season, Mizzou is one of eight conference teams ranked in ESPN's 'Way-Too-Early' Top-25 rankings, coming in at No. 21. That preseason hype comes thanks to a historic transfer and freshmen class in Columbia, as Coach Gates landed some of guys like guard Jason Crowe Jr., forward Toni Bryant, forward Bryson Tiller, guard Jamier Jones and a bevy of other players.
The team will hope to make its third-straight NCAA Tournament appearance with that loaded roster and also make a run in the SEC Tournament, which will return to Bridgestone Arena in Nashville from March 10-14, 2027.
