Mizzou women’s hoops lands first 2027 commit

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou women's basketball coach Kellie Harper made a splash with the first commitment in her 2027 recruiting class, as the leader of the Tigers locked down the No. 2 overall prospect in the state of Iowa.

On Friday, 6-foot-2 guard Katie Muller announced her commitment to MU, picking the Tigers over offers from Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Wisconsin and quite a few other Power-4 programs. The rising senior will be following in the footsteps of her older sister, Ellie, who is set to be a freshman for Coach Harper in the 2026-27 season.

Muller will come to Columbia after an already-illustrious career at Dowling Catholic High School, which is WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark's alma mater. In just three seasons with the Maroons, Muller has helped lead the squad to two state title games and a semifinal berth. In her junior campaign, the guard was a first-team all-state selection.

During the club season, she plays for the Missouri Phenom on the Nike EYBL circuit. In fact, ABC 17 Sports Director Nathalie Jones caught one of Muller's games in February, when she posted 22 points in a single half.

Muller is tabbed as the No. 2 recruit in the entire state of Iowa. She led Iowa's 5A class in assists per game and shot better than 35 percent from the 3-point line.
