The move comes after Macon, a native of Kirkwood, Mo., spent three season in Columbia. In 2026, he appeared in 34 games, making 29 starts for head coach Kerrick Jackson and company. The redshirt sophomore started non-conference play scorching hot, this season, even leading college baseball in hits, at one point. However, he cooled off once SEC play began.

Macon ended the 2026 campaign hitting .327 with a .440 slugging percentage and a .430 on-base percentage, along a pair of triples and seven double on the season. Overall, he drove in 27 runs and scored 29, himself.

He also put himself into the program history books in Mizzou's record-breaking 34-4 win over Mount St. Mary's in February, when he became the first Tiger in program history to go 8-for-8 on base, going 6-for-6 at the plate with a pair of double, eight RBI and four runs scored, while also reaching twice via walk.

Macon came to Columbia after a standout prep career at Kirkwood High School, where he batted .391 for the Pioneers in his senior season. He will have two years of eligibility remaining for his next program.
