Abby Carr earns All-American honor from Softball America

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two-way standout Abby Carr was named to the Freshman All-American team by Softball America.

The rookie earned a spot on the list in the utility/pitcher category after leading the Tigers in ERA, saves, home runs and RBIs. On the mound, Carr tied for first in the SEC in saves in the regular season. Offensively, she finished with a .293 batting average, and was first in extra-base hits with 22.

Softball America recognized her during the season, naming er Freshman Star of the Week on March 24. She was also named to the NFCA All-Region Midwest second team as a utility player and pitcher.
