Mizzou wide receiver set to enter transfer portal
COLUMIBA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Since the regular-season ended on Nov. 29, the Mizzou football team has seen a few players opt to hit the transfer portal, with the latest coming on Monday afternoon.
ABC 17 confirmed with a team spokesperson that Tiger wide receiver Joshua Manning is planning to enter his name into the transfer portal, as first reported by On3. Manning is now the fourth player to decide to go portaling since Mizzou's win over Arkansas in the season finale, joining wide receiver James Madison and running backs Brenden Haygood and Marquise Davis.
The move comes after Manning had his best season in the black and gold, in 2025. The Kansas City native caught 29 passes for 318 yards and a pair of touchdowns, as he grew into one of the top targets for quarterbacks Beau Pribula and Matt Zollers in the regular-season.
Manning worked his way up through the ranks in his time in Columbia, playing behind stars such as Luther Burden, Theo Wease Jr., Mookie Cooper and others. During his freshman season, he contributed on special teams before breaking into the passing game in his sophomore campaign.
In his second season in Columbia, the receiver caught 13 passes for one touchdown and 192 yards. That production led to the season that fans got to see unfold in 2025. Manning ended the year second on the team in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns and third in average yards per game.
Manning came to Mizzou as a former four-star recruit in the Class of 2023, after finishing his time at Lee's Summit High School as the No. 37 receiving recruit in the nation and No. 9 player in the entire state of Missouri.
