Mizzou women’s forward enters transfer portal with no traditional eligibility
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Several Mizzou players have gotten in on a growing trend in college athletics, as student-athletes wait to see what comes from the looming House vs. NCAA settlement decision in the coming weeks: entering the transfer portal with no eligibility left.
On Tuesday, a team spokesperson confirmed with ABC 17 that Tiger women's basketball forward Laniah Randle is in the transfer portal, with no traditional eligibility remaining. The 5-foot-11 forward will likely hope to get another year of eligibility granted to her by the NCAA to use at another institution.
Randle entered the portal after spending one season in Columbia, averaging 11.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game under former head coach Robin Pingeton. She ranked 32nd in scoring in the Southeastern Conference and competed in 32 games this past season.
The Wichita, Kansas native will be looking for her third program to play in her fifth season of college hoops.
She is the eighth Tiger from the 2024-25 roster to enter the transfer portal, since the season ended and Coach Pingeton stepped away from the program. Current head coach Kellie Harper has made plenty of moves, since portal season began, though. You can find a full look at the current roster below.
- Guard Shannon Dowell
- Point guard Nikki Kerstein (incoming freshman)
- Guard Averi Kroenke
- Forward Hannah Linthacum
- Guard Sydney Mains
- Forward Jordana Reisma
- Guard Abbey Schreacke
- Guard Grace Slaughter
Randle isn't the only Mizzou student-athlete to enter the transfer portal with no eligibility left, though. In fact, several Tigers have chosen to do so, including women's point guard De'Myla Brown, men's center Josh Gray, defensive end Joe Moore and a few others.
