Mizzou freshman Marcus Allen enters transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A team spokesperson confirmed that Mizzou freshman guard/forward Marcus Allen became the fourth member of the 2024-25 Tiger roster to throw his name into the transfer portal on Monday.

In his debut season in Columbia, Allen appeared in 26 games off the bench for head coach Dennis Gates and averaged 2.6 points and 2.0 rebounds per game. He notched a career-high 10 points against Mississippi Valley State in November and played a career-high 21 minutes on the road against Auburn in January.

The Florida-native came to Mizzou as the No. 74 ranked recruit in ESPN's Top-100, ahead of the 2024-25 campaign. Allen was a part of a recruiting class that ranked in the Top-15 nationally and the Top-5 in the Southeastern Conference. So far, he is the only member of that freshman class to decide to hit the portal.

He joins forward Aidan Shaw, guard/forward Danny Stephens and guard JV Brown in players to head to the transfer portal after the season ended.
