Mizzou hoops moves up six spots in the latest AP Poll after undefeated week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Following an undefeated week in Southeastern Conference action, the Mizzou men's basketball team moved up six spots in the latest AP Poll, to No. 15. The Tigers also jumped six spots in the Coaches Poll, to No. 16.
The move comes after head coach Dennis Gates and company responded to the first losing streak of the 2024-25 campaign. Entering Week 16's action, MU was coming off two-straight losses to Top-10 opponents in Texas A&M and Tennessee. As March Madness looms, Coach Gates and his team needed a response and boy did they get one.
The Tigers dominated unranked Oklahoma in Columbia, on Wednesday night, in a 24-point victory. Then, on Saturday, the team followed that up with another Quad 1 win with a road 'W' over the Georgia Bulldogs.
Gates and company are now 19-6 overall this season, with an 8-4 mark in conference play.
