Chiefs wrap up the final day of media availability as many players get set for their first Super Bowl

NEW ORLEANS, La. (KMIZ)

The Kansas City Chiefs are officially done with all the talking. All that's left to do now is play a football game on Sunday with history and a Lombardi Trophy on the line.

KC coaches and players took on the media one last time, on Thursday morning. Head coach Andy Reid and tight end Travis Kelce hit the main stage, while the rest of time had their final opportunity to talk with the media in a smaller setting.

Reid started off his final press conference by saying there are no injuries to speak of on his Chiefs squad, as Kansas City will seemingly ride a clean bill of health into the Super Bowl LIX matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.

"Practice went good yesterday," Reid said. "We're just going back through and trying to polish things up here this week. Still working hard, but we're gonna polish things up from last week."

That final preparation will be important in a game that's sure to be a hard-fought battle. But, the Chiefs do have experience on their side. The majority of the players on this Kansas City roster have played in these very game before. The franchise has been to five Super Bowls in six seasons, including the team's third-straight bid this year.

However, for a slew of veteran players, Super Bowl LIX will mark their first-career title bid, which they said is a pretty special feeling.

Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been in the league for 12 seasons, but will finally make his much-anticipated Super Bowl debut on Sunday night.

"I'm thankful for every general manager that traded me or released me, honestly. You know, because without them I wouldn't be in this position. So, I'm appreciative of everything," Hopkins said.

Running back Kareem Hunt is on his eighth season in the NFL and second stint with the KC Chiefs and is also making his title game debut.

"It means everything," Hunt said. "It's honestly such a dream come true. I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to, you know, go out here and play for a Super Bowl. Everybody wants to make it to a Super Bowl."

On his fifth season in the league, wide receiver Hollywood Brown is also playing in his first championship game on Sunday. During Thursday's media availability, he said that Super Bowl week and everything that comes with it is pretty overwhelming, outside of the actual football.

"The media everyday is different, but I mean we've just been taking it all in, getting on the practice field and just all eyes set for Sunday," Brown said.

Luckily that trio of players have quite a few guys they can lean on with Super Bowl week experience.

Chiefs safety Justin Reid is set to play in his third title game with Kansas City, on Sunday. He said he learned a lot from his first game week experience had some advice for the newcomers.

"I enjoyed my first Super Bowl, but I was also like so locked into it that I don't think that I enjoyed everything about it," he said. "What I would tell those guys is to take a breath and enjoy the moment. Like, it's crazy, there's a lot going on, but don't get too tight about it where you don't enjoy the expereince."

The experience is now winding down as Super Bowl LIX will kickoff in just three days time in New Orleans. Now, Kansas City and Philadelphia just have to work on the final details before kickoff at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
