Incarnate Word Academy head coach suffers medical emergency after state semifinal
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Incarnate Word Academy athletic director and head girls basketball coach Dan Rolfes suffered a medical emergency following the team’s semifinal win over Rock Bridge on Friday night, according to a social media post from the school's athletic department.
“IWA Athletics Director and Head Basketball Coach Dan Rolfes suffered a medical emergency while leaving the Mizzou Arena,” according to a social media post from the school’s athletic program. “Coach Rolfes is surrounded by immediate family and is receiving excellent care.
IWA did not specify what type of medical emergency Rolfes experienced.
Incarnate Word advanced to the state finals after defeating Rock Bridge 65-41 at Mizzou Arena. The team is slated to play Kickapoo in the Class 6 championship at 6 p.m. Saturday.
