Mizzou women’s basketball drops regular season finale, extends losing skid to 11 games

STARKVILLE, Miss. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou women's basketball team ended the regular season with a loss in Starkville, on Sunday. Head coach Robin Pingeton and company led by one at halftime, but let Mississippi State come back for a 90-75 win.

With the loss, the Tigers extended their losing streak to 11 games, as the group has not won a game since Jan. 18 against Georgia.

MU did a good job forcing turnovers in the first quarter, as the Bulldogs had five in that opening 10 minutes, however, State only recorded seven more the rest of the game. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs scored 20 points off of Mizzou's 15 total turnovers.

Mississippi State's Jerkaila Jordan caused problems for the Tiger defense, on Sunday. She put up a co-team-high 22 points. Two other Bulldogs got into double-digit scoring, as well.

Tiger veteran Hayley Frank led the scoring charge for MU. She scored 18 points, along with five rebounds and three assists. Despite the loss, the forward did hit 2,000 career points.

Ashton Judd (17), Mama Dembele (16) and Grace Slaughter (11) all also scored into double-digits.

Up next - Pingeton and company will prepare for the SEC Tournament, which begins on Wednesday, March 6 in Greenville, S.C.
