Columbia College advances to AMC Tournament semifinals

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia College women's basketball team cruised to 90-45 win over Central Baptist College on Friday night to advance to the AMC Tournament semifinals.

The No. 1-seeded Cougars will play No. 4-seeded University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy on Saturday, March 2 with a shot at the conference championship on the line.

CC shot a season-best 51.6 percent from the field and tied the season high with 16 3-pointers in the win. Mackenzie Hess led the scoring charge with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from 3-point range. Lexi Miller, Mya Miller and Mallory Shetley all got into double-digit scoring, as well.

South Callaway alum DeLaney Horstman had eight points, along with six rebounds, which broke Columbia College's single-season rebounding record with 321.

The Cougars will tip off against Eutectics in the AMC semifinals at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the Southwell Complex.
