Before tipoff, the Tigers announced that star forward Hayley Frank would not be available to play against the Lady Volunteers due to an injury. The team added that she will be considered day-to-day moving forward. Losing Frank means losing one of Pingeton's best shooters, as the fifth year forward is averaging about 17 points per game on 47 percent shooting from the field in her final season.

Other Tigers did step up on Sunday, however. Senior guard Mama Dembele, freshman guard Grace Slaughter, sophomore guard Ashton Judd and freshman forward Hilke Feldrappe all got into double-digit scoring at Thompson-Boling Arena.

Dembele led the charge for MU with 18 points in the loss, along with seven rebounds. Her three assists also made her the fourth-ever Tiger to record 400 career assists in program history.

Slaughter was right behind Dembele with 14 points. She is now just 39 points shy of reaching the program's top-10 for points scored in a freshman season.

Judd tallied her third-straight game in double-digit scoring with her 12 point outing. She also tacked on five rebounds.

Finally, Feldrappe matched her career-high with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field. Nine of those 11 points came in the fourth quarter.

Both teams came out of the gates hot, shooting better than 60 percent from the field in the first quarter. Mizzou struggled defensively, however, allowing the Volunteers to score 28 points in the first frame to MU's 17. Pingeton and company could never dig themselves out of that hole.

Up next - the Tigers will stay on the road to meet No. 1 South Carolina on Thursday. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m.
