Central Methodist women’s basketball advances to NAIA Semifinal

The undefeated Central Methodist women's basketball team keeps the perfect season alive with a 52-48 win over Marian University Wednesday to advance to the NAIA Semifinals.

With the win, the Eagles are now a perfect 35-0 on the year.

Central Methodist was led by Leianya Massenat with 17 points and a big double-double performance from Leah Johnson with 16 points and 14 rebounds.

The Eagles were behind for the entire game until taking the lead with nine minutes left in the fourth quarter. As a team, the group had a poor shooting night making just 34% of shots from the field and only 10% from three.

Up next - the Eagles will advance to the Semifinals on Friday at 6 p.m.
