Sunday Sit-down with KSHB’s Aaron Ladd

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

ABC 17's Chanel Porter brought on KSHB 41 Action News' Aaron Ladd in this week's edition of Sunday Sit-down.

The two talked about the upcoming Super Bowl LVII between the Chiefs and Eagles, but first reflected back on the AFC Championship matchup with the Bengals. Ladd said the trash talk that come from Cincinnati is part of what made the game so interesting.

"You saw the full explosion of emotion after that exciting one for Kansas City because I believe it was personal," Ladd said. "They wanted to beat Cincinnati and they wanted that to be the team that they eliminated on the way to Super Bowl LVII against Philly."

A big story line leading up to the Super Bowl is the fact that Travis and Jason Kelce will be the first brothers to ever go against each other in the big game.

"They got big hearts and they care a lot. They're extremely compassionate not only about football, but people as well," Ladd said. "It's going to be good to see their personalities really shine on this big stage."

Kelce and Patrick Mahomes dealt with injuries leading up to the AFC Championship game and a hand full of other guys got hurt against the Bengals. Ladd said he's anxious to see how healed up KC will be in time for the Super Bowl.

"The Chiefs are banged up right now. They're getting unhealthy at the wrong time," Ladd said. "I see these guys walk from off the field up a very small flight of steps into the into the locker room after the game and they're having trouble doing that, they're banged up. These two weeks are critical to getting this team ready to play against Philly."
