Columbia College captures two home wins against William Woods

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Both the Columbia College men's and women's basketball teams got wins Saturday afternoon at the Southwell Complex against William Woods.

Up first, the women's team downed the Owls 66-41 led by a big double-double performance from Hannah Ferguson.

Ferguson finished the day with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Abby Backes added nine points and a team-high four assists, while Allison Stiers added eight points.

The Lady Cougars advance to 11-3 on the season.

For the men's team, Columbia College put on a dominate second-half performance to down William Woods 78-58.

Tony Burks was the Cougars leading scorer with 19 points. Trendon Tisdale finished with 14 points and Cole Gerken added 12.

With the win, CC men's team remains a perfect 10-0 at home and 12-5 on the season.

Up next, both teams will next travel to Harris-Stowe State University on Tuesday.
