Mizzou WBB remains undefeated in win against Wake Forest

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou women's basketball team improved to 6-0 with a win over Wake Forest in the first game of the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship in the Bahamas.

The Tigers beat the Demon Deacons handily, 69-47, on Monday evening. It was a standout defensive effort for MU, as the group held Wake Forest to just about 28 percent shooting from the field.

Hayley Frank led all scorers in the win with 20 points. Notre Dame transfer Katlyn Gilbert was behind her with 11 points and five assists.

It was arguably junior center Jayla Kelly's best outing of the year. She finished with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Up next - Mizzou will face off with No. 11 Virginia Tech on on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 12:30 p.m. in the Bahamas.
