Eli Drinkwitz said Wednesday that Mizzou is taking the week to recharge, refresh and get healthy, but he also said there's a focus on the freshman.

Drinkwitz said this week is about advancing the younger guys that need to continue to develop.

With that being said, when asked where freshman QB Sam Horn is now compared to earlier this season, Drinkwitz he would consider giving Horn a series or two but it has to be earned in practice.

"If we put somebody in the game, they have to have the ability to move us into the end zone and have a full comprehension of what we're trying to do," Drinkwitz said. "If you don't have a full comprehension in college football, bad things will happen."

Drinkwitz also said this week is about getting the team healthy again saying that Brady Cook and Luther Burden are staying non-contact until preparation begins next week.

"Bye week came at a great time for our team really to recharge, refresh and get healthy," Drinkwitz said. "Both of those guys I anticipate will be full speed by the time we hit Sunday in our preparation for Vanderbilt."

Drinwkitz also said he's hoping Chad Bailey and Kris Abrahams-Draine will return to the defense.
