Chiefs work from behind to beat Chargers 27-24

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Kansas City Chiefs returned to Arrowhead in a big way on Thursday Night Football with a close 27-24 win against the Los Angeles Chargers.

KC got down early 10-0, but battled back to get the victory.

Patrick Mahomes finished 24/35 for 235 yards and two touchdowns.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire led things on the ground with eight carries for 74 yards and Travis Kelce led the receiving numbers with five catches for 51 yards.

The touchdowns came from Justin Watson and Jerick McKinnon, plus a big time pick six in the fourth quarter from the rookie, Jaylen Watson.

The Chiefs defense was led by L'Jarius Sneed with seven tackles, Willie Gay with six and Nick Bolton with five.

Up next - Kansas City has a ten day rest before hitting the road to go to Indianapolis to take on the Colts Sept. 25 at noon.
