Lincoln falls big in home opener with Northwest Missouri

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Lincoln Blue Tigers fell hard in the homer opener 58-20 against Northwest Missouri State.

LU scored on the opening drive with a 65-yard touchdown to Aderias Ealy, but the Blue Tigers didn't find the end zone again until the second half.

The Bearcats put up a big 23 points in the second quarter and 21 in the fourth.

Northwest was led by quarterback Mike Hohensee two had 312 yards and three touchdowns. His favorite target on the day was Keegan Sturdy who had seven receptions for 137 yards and a touchdown.

For Lincoln, QB Zamar Brake went 10/25 for 144 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Ealy was his top receiver with 134 yards and scored all three touchdowns on the day.

Up next - Lincoln will continue the home stand Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. against Fort Hays State and Northwest Missouri will return home to play Central Missouri at 1:30 p.m.
