Date set for 2022 Braggin’ Rights matchup

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou and Illinois men's basketball teams will meet in the 2022 edition of Braggin' Rights on Dec. 22 at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis.

The official game time and television information will be released at a later date.

It will be 53rd meeting all-time between the Tigers and the Fighting Illini. Illinois does lead the all-time series 33-19, however, Mizzou has one three out of the last four meetings. The Illini did take the last meeting, in 2021, by 25 points.

It will be head coach Dennis Gates' first rivalry matchup with the Fighting Illini since taking the MU job in the spring. The only players on the roster who have played in this annual game are Kobe Brown, Kaleb Brown, and Ronnie Degray III. The remainder of Gates' roster will enter their first season in Columbia.
