Jordan Chavis joins women’s hoops staff at Columbia College

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

It was announced Monday that former Mizzou standout Jordan Chavis is joining the Columbia College women's basketball team as an assistant coach.

Chavis played in 130 games over her Tiger career and ranked fifth in program history in 3-pointers made with 149.

"I am thrilled to be adding Jordan to our program," said Head Women's Basketball Coach James Arnold. "She stood out quickly in the interview process and as time went along it become obvious she was the right fit. Jordan's experiences, knowledge, and expertise will be a huge asset for our ladies."

Since finishing her career at MU in 2020, she played two seasons professionally in Europe, as well as coaching with Kingdom Hoops AAU program.

"I'm more than excited to become part of the Columbia College family," said Chavis. "The staff matches the intensity and togetherness that I have carried with me throughout my basketball career. I can't wait to get started and provide whatever is needed to help this program continue to grow."

Chavis' first day at Columbia College will be August 1.
