Two MU track and field athletes advance in day one of NCAA West Prelims

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two Mizzou track and field athletes advanced to the next round in their events on day one of the NCAA West Prelims Wednesday.

With a time of 3:41.10, Martin Prodanov finished fifth in his heat in the first round of the 1500m. He automatically advanced to Friday’s quarterfinal rounds.

In the 800m, Christopher Conrad clocked a personal best of 1:47.35. He finished second in his heat to automatically qualify for Friday’s quarterfinal rounds.

Up next - The Tigers will continue competition on Thursday with the women’s hammer, javelin, long jump and shot put.
