The Columbia College baseball season ends in NAIA tournament

The Columbia College baseball team's season came to an end Tuesday afternoon after they fell to the home team Taylor University in the elimination game of the NAIA Opening Round.

The Cougars got off to a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning with Devyn Lopez driving in two runs on a single to right field.

The Trojans scored one in the fifth and went on a two our rally in the bottom of the eighth to tie it up. The winning run was walked home in the bottom of eighth by pitcher Bryce Taylor.

Lopez and Kellen Williamson led the Cougars with both going 2 for 4 at the plate. Dan Fick pitched seven innings on the mound recording six strikeouts.

The Cougars finish the season a 38-14 record and 15-6 in conference play.
