St. Louis splits the four-game series with Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (KMIZ)

Despite a late push, St. Louis could not surge past Milwaukee on Sunday, dropping the finale 6-5 and also ending the series in a tie.

The Cardinals unraveling began in the seventh inning when the pitching staff gave up seven walks, including one with the bases loaded. The red birds managed to make it a one-run game in the eighth inning, trailing 6-5, with the tying run at third base, however, the inning ended in a groundout.

Dakota Hudson was handed the loss for St. Louis. The pitcher went three inning with two strikeouts and three earned runs allowed.

Up next - St. Louis will take a road trip to meet the Miami Marlins on Tuesday at 5:40 p.m.
