Aidan Shaw re-commits to Mizzou
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou men's basketball's highest ranked recruit in the last five years, Aidan Shaw, is officially back on board. The forward announced his re-commitment to MU on Wednesday afternoon.
ABC17's Nathalie Jones spoke to Shaw exclusively on Thursday afternoon, one day after his recommitment. You can find that full conversation in the video player below.
Shaw originally withdrew his commitment from the Tigers on March 17, just days after Mizzou fired former basketball coach Cuonzo Martin. The Kansas native said he is thankful in a social media post on Wednesday.
"My college decision was based on what school I felt will give me the best opportunity to reach my goals while, at the same time, making me a priority," he said. "A school with goals like winning championships and preparing players like me to be a pro. I am thankful for all of the new offers I received and truly didn't limit my decision on just my prior list. I was wide open because finding the ultimate fit for me as a student, an athlete, and a man was my goal. Basketball isn't who I am but what I do."
