Mizzou women’s basketball narrowly misses out on upset over No. 12 LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou women's basketball team nearly added another top-25 upset to its resume, but fell 87-85 in overtime to No. 12 LSU in Baton Rouge on Thursday.

MU went into the half trailing the enemy Tigers by 11 points, however, things changed the minute Mizzou hit the court in the third quarter.

Aijha Blackwell did not hit a field goal the entirety of the first quarter, but ended up finishing with yet another double-double with 26 points and 16 rebounds. Lauren Hansen was right behind her in that effort. She went 7-10 from beyond the arc with 23 points.

With the loss, the Tigers fall to 2-2 in conference play and 13-4 overall this season.

Up next - Mizzou will return to Columbia to host the Georgia Bulldogs on Monday, Jan. 17.
